There are some autoresponders and email software you can host on site with your host company. And, others are off site. There are advantages to using both. For one thing, you can often have unlimited subscribers if you host your own email or autoresponder software. Once installed, you can freely use the software without charge. But, you would have to be careful not to mail too many of your subscribers frequently or you might get accused of spamming by your host. The biggest advantage to using an off site autoresponder or email host is how they can usually handle the volume of subscribers you need and ensure your emails are delivered to the inbox rather than spam box. Although there is usually a recurring monthly charge. Which do you prefer when using an email software, one that is hosted on your own server or one that is off site, which you would pay for?
