One of my clients has a personal blog and is currently on WordPress.com. Now she wants to get a domain and go pro. Which theme do you recommend for a personal blog?

There are numerous free and paid themes that you can choose from the templates of WordPress. You can get them and activate it for her from there itself.

I imagine she has taken into consideration the cost of the domain name, its associated hosting, as well as the effort required to manage this new situation and is comfortable with that?

There are a myriad of themes available to meet her needs, free paid, premium, flat, glassy, soft demure themes and themes that literally scream at you with their boldness.

Perhaps you could provide a little more information on your clients nature that we may better recommend something suitable?

Twenty-Fifteen while being one of the default WordPress themes may just be an effective choice and has the added benefit of being free.

This particular theme is all about the blog and specifically designed to make the content easily readable at a glance, as well as being responsive and employs a typography that is very easy on the eyes.

With a mobile-first design, sidebar on the left, big featured images and minimal flair, it’s certainly a theme (initially at least) to consider. :D
